Jennifer O’Brien is a NYC local creative, photographer, and writer. She started taking photos professionally and leading NYC photo walks in 2013. Her photo and video clients have ranged from Canon to Japan Tourism.

ABOUT: How Does a Camera Work? This debut children’s book is an introduction to photography through a conversational story for inquisitive kids. It explains how a camera works through everyday objects like a mirror, magnifying glass, and even the pupil of your eye.

Alex and her mom, two scruffy dogs, are packing for their New York City trip when they realize mom’s camera is lost. While searching for the camera, Alex asks her mom, "how does a camera work?" Alex learns through everyday objects like a mirror, magnifying glass, and even the pupil of an eye. Mom shows Alex her NYC photos while explaining key photography concepts like aperture, shutter speed, zoom, composition, and more.
